How Can Americans Be So Mislead?

I cannot understand how Americans could support Trump for reasons other than his racist, bigoted and xenophobic rhetoric. I have had individuals tell me, particularly where I live, that Trump is going to resurrect the coal industry, he's going to repeal NAFTA, he's going to bring jobs, etc. All that is a lie.

First the coal mining industry is never coming back. Companies and institutions that used coal switched to alternate forms of energy which are not only cheaper but are clean. No the coal mining industry is never coming back. It is extinct. See, e.g. http://www.forbes.com/sites/timworstall/2016/11/11/its-president-trump-now-sure-is-and-coal-mining-jobs-are-still-not-coming-back-to-appalachia/#7dab395f2884

Second, in as far as bringing jobs back from overseas. Trump is part of the problem. All his merchandise is made in foreign countries. Trump's Merchandise is Made outside the U.S.. This is because of an economic policy instituted by the Reagan Administration formally known as neo-liberalism, or informally as "trickle-down" economics. This is a failed policy. It does not work. A nation cannot give tax breaks to the wealthiest and expect them to be generous enough to share with the rest of the country. All it's caused is corporate greed and corporations producing their items overseas to save even more. Why Reaganomics Crushes the American Economy.

No America, the coal mining industry is not coming back, no jobs are not going to return from overseas, and no, without taxing the richest and corporations at the rate the United States did prior to the Reagan Administration, our economy is not going to recover.

Finally, Trump has made his campaign based on racism, bigotry and xenophobia, taking a lesson from Hitler Use of Racism, Bigotry and Xenophobia to Win Elections, to attract the White Vote, knowing that he could achieve the electoral college vote with this rhetoric.  This has already caused massive issues in the first week after the elections with hate crimes being committed by Trump Supporters. Racist Outbursts Since Election. Moreover, from the beginning, Trump was actively endorsed by the American Nazi Party and the KKK as well as other White Supremacist groups. American Nazi Part and White Nationalists Endorse Trump. And Trump supporters wonder why people assume they are racists, even if they really are not. Because regardless how a individual justifies their support. Marginalized individuals are not going to accept that justification as valid. Trump was racist and bigoted on live television, thus what do Trump supporters expect to be called. https://youtu.be/86gbVJV1p2M.

This brings us to the subject of the protests. I have two opposite and complementary statements about this, so please read all of it and don't take it out of context.

First, let me state that I am very patriotic. I personally have made sacrifices in ways that no one can imagine for this nation I will not delve into that. I have the utmost respect and honor for those who serve and for the flag of this nation. I personally feel that everyone in the United States should feel the same. Those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for this nation are diverse, they are Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Hindus, Jewish and atheists to name a few. They are those of European, Native American, Middle-Eastern, Indian, etc descent. America is great because of that diversity.

However, there is a systemic issue of institutionalized racism in this nation since its inception in 1776. I will discuss this in a later post. But imagine this about the protesters. They are minorities, they are the marginalized or they are those who oppose racism, bigotry and xenophobia. Put yourself in their shoes. Imagine that you listened, for over a year, a candidate and his supporters spewing racism, bigotry and xenophobia, and then against all odds that individual gets elected. You would feel abandoned by the nation you loved. You would feel marginalized and you would feel rejected. This is why the protests are happening, this is why they are angry, this is why there may be some violence. This is why they are even more abused when people who should be sympathetic and supporting them against this evil are insulting them for incidents that they may not fully understand. The Civil Rights Movement from 1950 to 1970 was not peaceful. It was violent. The narrative that people believe today is not true and is not supported by the historical record. They are protesting for America. They are protesting against hate. They are protesting against racism. They are protesting against bigotry. They are protesting against xenophobia. They are protesting against the people who put this racist freak into office. They are protesting against the thousands of incidents like this one because Trump and his supporters made this ok.Hate Crimes By Trump Supporters.

People, our Munich was November 8th and we failed. Protests may correct that.
